The new National Isolation Centre in Tutong district was commissioned by the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to strengthen the Ministry of Health's capacity to treat and monitor infectious COVID-19 patients nationwide.

7 Blocks and 170 Beds in Tutong

Responding to the global pandemic, Brunei moved fast to build the National Isolation Center (NIC) and keep the outbreak under control at home. Located in Tutong District, the campus comprises 7 main blocks - 5 clinical blocks for patient treatment and 2 for management and engineering. With 41 ventilators and capacity for up to 170 beds, the center treats and observes COVID-19 patients from across the sultanate, supported by isolated monitoring wards, X-ray rooms, consultation and meeting rooms, and on-call rooms for doctors and nurses.

The door surface uses a silver-ion antibacterial special board that suppresses bacterial growth and reproduction while resisting collision and wear.

Aluminum Honeycomb Core

Inside, an aluminum honeycomb core keeps the leaf rigid and hard - resistant to impact, resistant to deformation, and effective at sound insulation.

Anti-Fog Double Tempered Glass

Observation windows are double-layer tempered glass, specially treated to prevent fogging and sterile spots caused by temperature differences.
