Square Ceiling Diffuser FK003 with 4-Way Airflow

This square ceiling diffuser delivers 4-way airflow from a lay-in face designed for 600x600 T-bar grids - the workhorse supply terminal of hospital corridors, ward bays and cleanroom ceilings. Extruded aluminum, anodized or powder-coated, it distributes supply air evenly across the room below at noise levels a ward can live with.

What a 4-Way Square Ceiling Diffuser Does

The square diffuser's job is to turn duct velocity into room comfort. Air enters through the collar, hits the deflection vanes and leaves in four horizontal streams that slow and mix before reaching the occupied zone. Done well - and this is what the vane geometry is engineered for - the result is even coverage without drafts, at noise levels from NC25 to NC40 depending on size and airflow.

Behind the face, a fan-blade damper on the collar lets commissioning balance each terminal so every room on the duct gets its share of supply air.

Face Sizes and Deflection Patterns: 150-600mm, 1/2/3/4-Way

Faces run from 150mm up to 600mm, covering everything from small treatment rooms to high-airflow lobbies, with airflow from 50 to 2,000 m3/h across the range and pressure drops of 15-35 Pa. The deflection pattern is chosen per position: 4-way for open bays, 3 and 2-way near walls and windows, 1-way to push air along a corridor or away from equipment. Blanking quadrants on the same face gives every position its pattern from one product family.

Lay-In for T-Bar Grids vs Surface Mount

Lay-in frames drop straight into exposed T-bar grids - the same 600x600 modules our aluminum T profile systems carry - so the diffuser lands flush in the ceiling plane with the panels, filters and lighting. Surface-mount frames fix to plaster or mineral-fiber ceilings and connect by duct above. Both mounts share the same faces and dampers; the choice follows the ceiling, not the air.

Where Square Diffusers Are Specified

The recurring positions: ward corridors and nurse stations, outpatient waiting areas, consultation rooms, pharmacy cleanrooms at ISO 7-8, and the general supply zones of operating departments (theatres themselves take laminar and swirl terminals). Wherever the ceiling is a modular grid and the air must arrive evenly and quietly, this is the face that gets specified.

Aluminum Face, Anodized or Powder-Coated

The face is extruded aluminum - rigid, corrosion-free, and finished to the interior: anodized for a natural metal tone, powder-coated in white or project colors to disappear into the ceiling. Aluminum holds its finish through wipe-down cycles and never rusts at the vane edges, which is why it is the standard material for cleanzone terminals.

Balancing with the Back Damper

The fan-blade damper on the collar is what turns a box of vanes into a commissioned terminal. During balancing, each damper is set so its room receives its design share of the duct's air - the far-end rooms get their flow, the near-end rooms stop hogging it. Because the damper sits on the back of the face, adjustment happens from below with the diffuser in place, and the pattern stays clean after every change. In retrofit work the same damper is what lets a new face join an old duct without re-balancing the entire system.

Diffusers quote from the ceiling schedule: face size, pattern and quantity per room, plus collar and damper requirements. We return a size-by-size confirmation with airflow and pressure data per unit. Production runs 20-35 days, faces stacked with vane protection, labeled by size and pattern so installation crews hang the right face in every opening.
